The Social Welfare Institutions materialize the outburst of development.

Thanks to the efforts of a group of dedicated people, deeply concerned with the conditions of orphans distressed by World War I, The Social Welfare Institutions in Lebanon started in 1917 as a small orphanage in Beirut, Zokak- Al Bilat district, as an expression of a higher humanitarian deed at that time.

And since, this orphanage saw several evolutionary stages the first one was Dar Al Aytam Al Islamiyah in 1932. It, then, burgeoned and so emerged the Social Welfare Institutions in Lebanon in 1972. They represent nowadays, a philanthropic group with unified objectives, and diversified specializations installed in 22 locations and spread throughout 39 operating institutions in view of addressing the community and the public welfare needs.
